  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground Italian sausage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles plus extra in case of breakage
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix ricotta, egg, mozzarella, Parmesan, oregano, salt, basil, parsley, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Spread marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Cook onions in a skillet; add ground meats and garlic until browned.
  5. Stir in broth and remaining marinara; simmer.
  6. Boil lasagna noodles until al dente; rinse under cold water.
  7. Spread cheese mixture on each noodle; layer meat sauce and roll tightly.
  8. Place seam-side down in the baking dish; top with remaining sauce and mozzarella.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for approximately 35 minutes.
