  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground lamb
  • Red onion
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup feta cheese
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 1 English cucumber
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato
  • ½ red onion
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground lamb, finely chopped red onion, panko breadcrumbs, feta cheese, minced garlic, egg, parsley, mint, oregano, dill, cumin, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  3. Form mixture into approximately 32 meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. For tzatziki: Shred cucumber and remove excess moisture. Mix with Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, and salt; refrigerate.
  6. Warm pita bread slightly. Spread tzatziki on each pita; add lettuce, tomato slices, red onion rings, crumbled feta cheese, and 5–6 meatballs per pita.
  7. Roll each pita tightly and serve immediately.
