  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat and sauté minced garlic for about a minute.
  3. Whisk in flour, then gradually add chicken broth and milk while stirring until smooth. Simmer for about five minutes before adding cheeses.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes and onions in the casserole dish, followed by half of the cheese sauce. Repeat with remaining potatoes, onions, and sauce.
  5. Top with reserved cheese and bake covered for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes until golden brown.
