  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons white pepper powder, adjusted to preference
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour (corn starch)
  • 2 tablespoons spring onion, chopped
  • 120 g vermicelli noodles, more or less for two servings
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons Chinese dark vinegar
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons Chinese chili oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add ground beef, cooking until slightly browned.
  2. Stir in grated ginger and soy sauce; cook for another 10-15 seconds.
  3. Add 1 cup of water and white pepper powder; cover and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, boil vermicelli noodles until al dente; strain and set aside.
  5. Mix corn flour with 1/2 cup water until smooth, then stir into the beef mixture to thicken the sauce.
  6. Toss cooked noodles into the thickened sauce before serving.
